About 14 kms. from Ahmedabad this plot admeasuring 10000 sq.yds. is a site with three fully grown mango trees.
The client’s basic requirement was of two rooms, kitchen, dining, living, a small swimming pool and a multipurpose space for indoor games.
Unlike large city houses the design was to provide experience of richness in open spaces .
The design theme was to provide spaces with courtyards and cut outs which allow the nature to be a part of the living spaces. The distinct inside outside spatial connection leaves the experience woven with light during different times of the day. The play of light with the space is further enhanced by the subtle water features connecting the courtyard, passage and the deck areas. The design incorporates the elements of air , water and light in a white form.
The landscape is a part of celebration during social functions. The light of the sunrise and sunset penetrate right to the centre of the house and makes the connection to the front and rear portion very interesting. The swimming pool is partially covered with the room above and partially extending to the sunken landscape.
The play of light during day and night lends to the enriching experience which touches, moves and inspires the senses and leaves one with a feeling of lightness.
