In the extreme climate and terrain of Lakhpath, the most western part of the Gujarat state. A cement
plant township required to provide comfort and acceptable living standards to the young aspiring working class of the present times.
Categories as per different hierarchy required to live in the same site. Initially an area of .75 km by .75 km was available. After the soil investigation and topography the area available became a challenge to accommodate some 300+ house requirements.
Also the location of the site is such that any educated executive class family oriented person would demand a very nice living comfort over just good salary.
The remote site required need to develop a community with social spaces for a health living. The concept was developed keeping in mind the site contours, soil conditions and harsh environment.
The amenities included every basic need to the feel of urban comfort in a remote isolated site.
Being in seismic zone the idea was to keep structures independent and also compact as possible.
A design language of low scale slope roof structures with open areas for play and socializing, evening walks and plinths was central to the township theme.
The roads were curved and parking lots were designed for each cluster. Battery operated cars were preferred as that would be economical and environment friendly.
A one hectare lake with Lake Front was planned, which could also serve as storage of the natural water.
The township design is characterized as curved roads cape where one would like to walk, a plinthscape where people will be tempted to gather and have a conversation, the slope roof scape for a country side feel, A Terrace balcony to spend the peaceful evening below the sparkling stars.
